About Tam
Welcome
My name is Tam (they/them) and I created Toadstool Walks to offer support in finding one’s own way towards experiencing belonging to the natural world. I believe the practice of Forest Bathing can deepen and broaden relationships by supporting health and healing for all beings.
I hold space for folks to come together to share and bear witness in community with the wider-than-human world in a way that supports our remembering that we are not simply in relationship with nature but rather that we are nature.
I am a certified forest therapy guide, trainer, mentor and educator with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs. I am also a co-founder of "Radical Hospitality for Guides", a professional development project through which I co-instruct a foundational course called "Business and Practice Development for Guides".
My training includes an understanding of the scientific framework of Forest Therapy as well as an open style of unprescribed facilitation that supports the possibility for cultural repair, focusing on relationships of reciprocity.
I guide regular ongoing Forest Bathing walks in the Boston area and host multi-day retreats. I currently mentor Forest Therapy Guides in training as well as folks who seek 1-1 support in reconnecting with their own nature. I also read Tarot and integrate readings into Forest Therapy. I have extensive mentoring experience serving LGBTQ Folks through BAGLY, The Theater Offensive’s True Colors, and The Venture Out Project.
I hold CPR, First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid certifications.
