Spring 2022

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
Spring brings a raw vulnerability and I heed caution in my transition from the quiet slow pace of winter. I am reluctant to immediately opening my windows and I am cozy in my warm layers of protective winter clothing. The sun is bright and it takes me a while to fully open my eyes. Eventually as the buds begin to burst and new life shoots out of the ground, I slowly let my shoulders down, feeling the new warmth and anticipating new possibilities that come with long days.

Last month I was a guest on a podcast where I spoke about Belonging as a health impact of nature connection. You can listen here: https://everythingschanging.libsyn.com/forest-bathing-embracing-mindfulness-and-reconnecting-with-nature

I recently wrote an essay for the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy called Being a Guide of Guides: Dispatches from a Trainer’s Path. Its a story about how I became a trainer of guides and what I've learned over the past five years since embarking on this path. You can read my story here:

I truly hope you'll join me this spring for some nature therapy.

Let's greet the sun, the sea, the forest, the flowers, the showers and the babies of spring together.

When we created Acorn Programs, we envisioned making a home for future programming where guides could come together to continue growing and learning. We didn't exactly know what other programs would seed, but it has become clear that in addition to continuing to offer our flagship Business and Practice Development Program, we feel called to create other kinds of incorporation space to stay connected around the journey of being and becoming a guide.

We are excited to introduce our next Acorn Program, The Guide Circle. Because the guide journey is about so much more than guiding others. The stories that arise when we reconnect with ourselves and the planet can be bigger than us. Sharing and witnessing them can help us process what it means to each of us to be a guide. Your stories are important. The Guide Circle is a space to explore and metabolize our discoveries.
