Have you ever listened to the song of ice? That eerie mysterious creaking movement of freezing, thawing and cracking?
There is something so soothing about the quiet of winter but it can also feel harsh and dark and long. I find that my circadian rhythm start to get weird around mid-winter with short bouts of insomnia and generalized anxiety that leave me feeling rudderless and confused. Any moment of sunshine and thaw seem to perk me up, reminding me that spring will come again. Getting outside is the ultimate anecdote to my the mid-winter blues, even if its grey and wet and the snow is old and muddy.
Join me for a very special and rare winter ferry ride out to Peddocks Island for this program sponsored by Boston Harbor Now. There will be hot beverages upon arrival and a series of short guided tours to choose from that explore the island history and ecology. I’ll be guiding a short forest bathing experience as part of this programming. Come sip hot tea with me and explore Peddocks in winter!
